The Milan International Furniture Exhibition, also known as the Salone, has become the largest and most important event of its kind in the world. Over the past years it has shown consistent growth, both in the quantity of exhibitors and in the number of visitors.
Close to 300’000 visitors and 2’500 exhibitors from 160 countries participated this year.
The Salone always bristles with the passion, vitality and energy of the creators, designers, visitors, buyers and sellers involved in this unequaled event. Excitement also resonates throughout the entire city of Milan, with its colossal number of concurrent offsite events, receptions, shows, presentations and displays. Milan’s design week no doubt displays the most innovative and promising furniture designs in the world.
The Salone is located at the Milan Fair Grounds in Rho, near Milan.
Beyond the Salone itself, numerous collateral events took place. One was the International Lighting Exhibition, Euroluce, hosting roughly 420 exhibitors this year over a total area of 19’000 sqm, another was the Furnishing Accessories Exhibiton, attracting about 120 exhibitors.
The Salone Satellite, the event that presents young designer talents under 35 years of age, also took place this year. Around 500 young creators and exhibitors participated and presented about as many projects.
The 2019 Salone attracted numerous buyers, developers, contractors, property and project managers, architects and interior designers from around the world. For all of them the yearly Salone is an event of great value.
